The Great Gatsby Hair with John Frieda

I have my computer back! That means I can blog freely once again. Woohoo.
Today I want to share some pics of my boys and their beautiful locks. I always get asked what I use in their hair. This is one of my secrets..John Frieda Clearly Defined Styling Gel...the very same hair gel used by John Frieda Hair Designer Kerry Warn used to create signature looks for the cast and hundreds of extras in the Baz Luhrmann film The Great Gatsby.

This is before pickle #3's haircut (they all had their haircut over the weekend).

I love using the gel to take it from messy and unkempt to very Leo DiCaprio.

This gel keeps the hair in place all day. I've tried so many over the years but most won't keep the style in place all day, or they go flakey etc. The John Frieda Clearly Defined Styling Gel is a winner in my book.

Post haircut...and a happy little pickle.
This is pickle #1's serious look...I think he had better things to do than pose for me (like get on his ipad...) This kid had very, very thick hair and the gel still performs...I like to spike his up...he usually does his own hair, but I took over for the photo...lol

My hair is also very thick and can get super frizzy, so when I used the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray on this wavy style, it held in place all day (and the next) with no boofy frizz head......happy. This hairspray is great for anyone who wants good hold and would be especially great for wet or humid climates. Definitely going with me on my next Gold Coast trip.

Have you been inspired by any movies recently? I'd love it if you'd share your tips in the comments.

Have a great hair day!

Taken 2 {review}

Mr3P and I saw Taken 2 on Friday night. An actual date!...well a child free movie anyway.

I saw the advertisement on TV last week and had never seen the first movie, so we hired and watched it during the week.
LOVED IT...so I couldn't wait to see the sequel.

Liam Neeson is one of my all time favourite actors and he didn't disappoint.

I won't go into a long review...just watch the trailer and go see it!!

Streetdance 2 in 3D

BIGGER. BETTER. BOLDER.

I love dance movies...and  a dance movie in 3D!!!

To beat the world's best dance crew, streetdancer Ash (Falk Hentshel), with new friend  Eddie (George Sampson), set off to gather the greatest streetdancers from around Europe, falling in love  with beautiful salsa dancer Eva (Sofia Boutella) in Paris. With landmark locations, the most spectacular dance fusion of Latin and Street ever seen, the sequel to global smash hit StreetDance is bigger, better, bolder and back... in 3D!

At the movies from April 19th, 2012

Our Idiot Brother

Yes, I have a brother and I'm sure I've called him an idiot (even though he's far from one) and my Pickles have even been overheard saying this to each other (not something I like to hear)... but none of them are anything like Ned Rochlin (Paul Rudd) in the latest release from Village Roadshow - My Idiot Brother.

You can't help but feel sorry for Ned who chooses to look for the good in every situation and best in everyone he meets. This attitude lands him in trouble with the law and he ends up in jail (you'll see that in the trailer below)
When Ned is released from jail, he finds that his girlfriend has kicked him out and has taken custody of Willie Nelson (their dog..lol) Ned seeks shelter with his begrudging family while working out a way to get his beloved dog back...and interfering in their lives in the process.

I'm glad I don't have a brother like that...

This looks like one of those films that's both a crack up and heart warming (my favourite kind)...I'm probably going to cry too...cos that's just how I roll.

Check out the trailer below. I hope you enjoy.

Starring Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel & Emily Mortimer.
Due for release on DVD & Blu-ray (March 15, 2012).
