I grew up on the Gold Coast where the humidity can sometimes be unbearable...it also turned my hair into witchypoo hair....and I don't like it like that.
Eventually, I discovered hair serums and they worked pretty well at easing the frizz, but they were always quite pricey and in tiny bottles.
I now live in Melbourne, but I still have the same frizzy problem (it followed me). I've tried so many different brands and types and there are some great ones out there, so when I had the opportunity from Dove and Nuffnang to try out the new Dove Nutri Oil Serum, I was keen to see what it could do.
It could do plenty!
I washed & conditioned my hair as usual, then I towel dried it, combed it and then ran a few pumps of the serum through my hair.
The first thing I noticed was that it smelled great (a big deal to me...I can't walk around all day with a weird smell in my hair...it gives me a headache...hmmm).
I also loved that it didn't feel oily or greasy on my hands like a lot of serums do...I liked that too.
Then I blow dried my hair and straightened it with a flat iron.
Booyeah!! Silky (really), smooth and no witchypoo in sight.
I couldn't stop touching it...lol
Even on the day that I didn't blow dry and straighten (I just put it in a ponytail), it was still pretty smooth...and that's what really sold me, cos that never happens.
Oh and it's under ten bucks and you can get it at the supermarket!!
So get it on your grocery list.

My best hair day was last year, when I attended a wedding. I splurged on a hairdresser appointment that morning, and after a trim, treatment, blowave and styling, I looked like a million bucks! (Pity I just can't recreate the look at home myself...!)
ReplyDeleteI love a good styling session at the hairdressers. I have so much paint in my hair at the moment, so i'm dud very soon for a treatment and head massage methinks.

I'm going to have to look out for that Marnie. The humidity and my hair don't mix so summer's pretty much bad hair days for the entire time. That's when I rely on the wet, slick look! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
I was always wearing it in a ponytail when i lived in QLD.
DeleteI feel your pain Anne.

Worst hair day was when I had none.During chemo , the wig made me sweat and it prickled my face so I whipped it off, unfortunately frightening some of my kids friends. But we all had a laugh about it, kids are good like that :)
ReplyDeleteKids can brighten up the crappiest of days. (and create some too...lol)
DeleteI hope you are recovering well.

ReplyDeleteMy worst hair days are hot humid days when my hair has a mind of its own and wants to frizz. :-(

The other day I was walking work (after I had put my hair in a beautiful bun) and as I was about to enter the door, a bird pooed on my head. I had to race straight to a meeting (with poo smeared over my clean hair). Lets just say, that meeting didnt go to well- all I could think about was the bird poo (a few dry reaching moments ensued).
ReplyDeleteEeek!

I'm a fan on Facebook (Kate Ryan) :)
ReplyDeleteMy best AND worst hair day is always right after I get a haircut, I'm either swishing it around like I'm a shampoo commercial, feeling very smug or I'm filled with doubts about whether I should have cut that much off and whether the layers look strange. :-/
