A Beautiful Giveaway!!
28 April 2013
If you know me, or if you've ever seen any of my "social networking" sites, then you'd already know how much I LOVE Helen Dowsley, Ethically Sourced Lashes. For those of you who didn't know, then let me introduce you...................
You may recognise these lashes...they appear regularly on The Voice (Australia), X Factor (Australia), Farmer Wants a Wife, Home & Away, Sunrise, Today Show, Logies (Australia), ARIAS (Australia) and on countless shoots for models and celebrities.
For years I haven't been a huge fan of false lashes, and that's not because I never liked the look, but I found it hard to get consistent, good quality lashes for all my makeup needs. I have tons of cheap and nasty lashes, but they look...well, cheap and nasty and are a pain in the behind to apply. But these lashes, created by Helen (who clients include Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Lilly Allen & Lady Sarah Ferguson...to name a few) apply like a dream and look so beautiful on everyone I've applied them to. My favourites are the "In Love" lashes that I use by the carton!!! They don't lift, they sit where I want them to sit and the range of styles to choose from is vast...a little bird told me there are some new lashes coming to the designer range in the not too distant future. Watch this space for updates!

This is the Make-Up Artist's bulk box of "In Love" lashes (my faves)

I prefer to apply my lashes with Duo Adhesive in Black

"In Love" lashes, close up...so delicate....perfect
Here's your chance to WIN some of these beauties........... First of all...the prizes. Helen Dowsley Ethically Sourced Lashes are kindly supplying the giveaway.
!st prize: 1 single set of each of the 10 designer styles from the Helen Dowsley Ethically Sourced Lashes range (or equivalent)
2nd, 3rd & 4th prizes: 1 single set of the "In Love" lashes (my personal favourite).
To enter the giveaway: Seeing that Helen ships Internationally, then this giveaway is open to followers of this blog or subscribers of my YouTube Channel, Internationally!!

This is a sponsored post for Digital Parents Collective
Yeah, you could say that's a morning well spent......
The life size LEGO Formula One car is made up of over 200,000 pieces of regular Lego...no special pieces were made for the construction, which means you could make this at home...all you need is 200,000 pieces of Lego, 800+ hours to spare and a couple of F1 drivers to sit atop.
I think this would look very nice in our lounge room.
or...........maybe these would be a little more practical.
These are some of the newest collectibles from Shell & LEGO that were introduced on the day.
There are six limited edition Ferrari model LEGO cars with pull-back motors. These cars have the smallest pull-back motor ever produced by the LEGO group. They are capable of performing over 300 pulls, propelling the 30g vehicle up to 2 metres! the pickles will certainly be putting that to the test!
Alonso and Massa looked like they were having fun playing with the new LEGO cars and even raced with some young fans who attended the event.
The cars are based on some of the most iconic vehicles in Ferrari's motoring history:
Shell and LEGO worked on the development of the mini motor for over 18 months, which isn't surprising given the fact that Shell invests approximately 21,000 hours a year on research & development in it's technical partnership with Ferrari. They don't do things by halves. Good on em!
And guess what?
The international media went nuts about it....but only my 3pickles readers are in the running for a chance to win one of the 2 sets.
So get cracking and good luck!
PS: Stay tuned in the day or so where you'll see these little cars in action (thanks to the pickles and their brilliant LEGO skills) and some footage I shot on the day of the event. (video here)
Yeah, you could say that's a morning well spent......
Last Thursday, the 14th March, Mr3P and I attended the Shell media event which saw Formula One Champions Fernando Alonso & Felipe Massa unveil the world's first, life-size Scuderia Ferrrari Formula 1 car model built by Lego.
Awesome!

Muesli Bar Slice Recipe & a GIVEAWAY!!!!
12 February 2013
One of the favourites for the school and work lunch boxes.
I know this muesli slice is not exactly a weight loss food, but the kids like it and at least I know exactly what is in it as opposed to a lot of the prepackaged bars in the shops.
And I get to bake something....which I love to do.
Well, it's kinda a mix and pour recipe rather than real baking.
But whatevs....
I purchased this Macro porridge from Woolworths for my own brekkie, but I had to try it out in this recipe. I normally use regular oats. I think this has a better flavour and texture.
The recipe is easy and can be adaptable to suit your tastes.
All you need to do is mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl:
2 cups of Muesli
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
I added spoonfuls of pepitas, dried cranberries, some sultanas AND
1/2 cup dark choc chips
next:
mix your dry ingredients with a can of sweetened condensed milk ....mix really well
"pour" into a non stick baking tin (or slice tin) I used a silicone slice tray from Chef's Toolbox.
I press the mixture down with a drinking glass.
Bake at 180C for about 15-20 mins. Just check for doneness. The slice should be golden brown. It will still be soft when you remove it from the oven. Let it cool for 10 mins, then slice into bars and place on a rack to cool completely and firm up.
The rest gets stored in an airtight container, ready for the lunch boxes.
Speaking of lunch boxes, the pickles have been enjoying these Organic juices from Sunraysia that were sent to them to try. I even put some in the freezer....they loved that.
We all want to give our kids healthy options and these juices are up there on the list.
This is why: Sunraysia Organic is 100% organic fruit juice with Nothing Added, Nothing Taken Away. Made from certified organic fruit, Sunraysia Organic is all natural with no artificial colours and flavours, no chemical pesticides, no genetic modification and no added sugars or preservatives. There are four fresh, great tasting juices in the range - Apple, Orange, Apple & Blackcurrant and Tropical.
I love the fact that my kids can drink juices from fruit hasn't been sprayed with pesticides. I find that reassuring.
What's more, the durable pouch that the Sunraysia juices come in are 100% recyclable and, thanks to its unique design, will mean less waste going into Australian landfills.
Sunraysia Organic is available from supermarkets nationally with a RRP of $1.49 each
or 5 for $5.00 at selected stores.
Would you like to win a bunch of these fabulous juices?
This giveaway has now closed.
The prize :
Thanks to Sunraysia for giving this prize to one lucky reader.
40 samples of the juice (10 of each flavour) - just enough to cover two school lunches per day for one month
&

Value = $70 each

If I told you that you could design & create your own planner, online and it would be printed and delivered to your door...would you want one?
Their planners provide you with endless design possibilities. You can change colour, text and design on front/back cover as well as inlay. There are also clever boxes for to-do list, gym session, preschool, idea of the week and weather. Friend’s and family member’s birthdays can also be added to the inlay directly from Facebook. They print and deliver the finished product directly to our your doorstep. Here are a few things that I like about these planners:
- Design the front/back cover
- Tons of ways to design the inside to suit your style &
- needs.
- Add friends & family members birthdays to the inlay
- Choose between 4 different sizes
- You pick the start date.
- And best of all its fun and easy :)
This giveaway is now closed...thanks to everyone who entered.
Now would you like the chance to win one?
The lovely people at Personal Planner are giving one lucky reader an email gift card (valued at $45) to be redeemed on their website.
This GIVEAWAY is open to everyone...international readers welcome.
All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what's been missing from "your" planners of the past. For me it would be a "Me Time" section...lol

I'll pick my favourite and announce it here on the blog and on my Facebook page on Sunday 27th January.
The prize cannot be exchanged for money.

Good luck and happy planning.
Hair Pack Giveaway
07 October 2012
Hi there, how was your weekend? Mine was relatively non-eventful, just the way I like it.
The 2 older pickles went back to school this morning after 2 weeks of (full on) school holidays. We did a lot of "stuff" and I AM TIRED!!!
Nobody told me having 3 kids would be so exhausting, they get up in the morning and hit the ground running and they don't stop until forced to go to bed.
Don't get me started on how much food they consume....machines, they are...I tells ya!!
Is it like that at your house?
So, I'm not sure where to start this morning & after sticking something in the slow cooker and the washing machine, I've decide to sit on the sofa, not look at any mess, have a coffee and tell you about a little giveaway I'm having today.
It's all about hair...again.
You know how much I love hair products.
Do you love them too?
It's fun being a girl.
Yep, I'm a girly girl whenever I can get the chance.
Because it's all males in this house I've missed out on the playing make-up, dress up and girly tea parties. So it's DIY. lol
By the way, here's my latest "do"...I've gone a little lighter and had the layers thinned out a bit more. Because it's very thick, if I let it go too long between cuts, it goes all witchypoo.
What do you think?
How about you? Are you planning a change in hairstyle or colour for the Spring/Summer months?
If so, this giveaway will be right up you alley.
With summer just around the corner, the warmer months often call for a change. Body blitzing, health kicks and hair overhauls are all part of summer prepping, and sometimes knowing what to focus on most can be overwhelming. Nice’n Easy and Wella Pro Series are here to make summer prep easy, with their summer style pack.
I'm giving 3 readers hair a fresh summer start with a Nice’n Easy and Wella Pro Series summer style giveaway. Each pack will contain one Nice’n Easy hair colour in a shade of choice, and a Wella Pro Series Colour shampoo and conditioner.
Nice’n Easy:
Anti-flat colour is all about hair that sparkles in the sun and looks alive with energy and personality. Nice’n Easy shades work hard to deliver natural looking colour in the comfort of your own home. Each shade has the right level of dimension to ensure 100 per cent grey coverage, without making the colour look flat.
Wella Pro Series Colour collection:
71% of women colour their hair, and therefore requires special treatment since colouring makes it more vulnerable. Preserve the vibrant, healthy look of hair shades with Wella Pro Series Colour which intensively nourishes, protects against breakage from combing and styling and leaves coloured hair soft and shiny.
How to enter: (Aussies only sorry)
1. You need to follow 3pickles on at least one of the following:
2. In the comments, here on the blog, tell me, who is your celebrity hair "idol" and why.
Entries close Friday, October 12th, 2012 at midnight (Melbourne time)
The 3 winners will be announced here on the blog, this Saturday, October 13th, 2012.
Good luck.
