David Austin Rose

Mr 3P gave me a beautiful David Austin rose bush for Valentines Day. It's an Abraham Darby and he smells very sweet and fruity.
Aint he sweet? I'm talking about Mr 3P, not the rose ;)
It will sit in it's little pot until winter, then he'll find his new home somewhere in the garden. I noticed he had a little bit of "black spot" (now I'm talking about the rose). Not sure how to get rid of that. Looking much better than when he came home from the nursery (it was a little dark and dingy where they had left him)

Visitors in the Garden

These cute little guys have been visiting everyday since the plums have changed from green to yellow.

They are very welcome to snack, as long as they leave me enough to make a little jam.

I'm loving these groundcovers we got recently from Bunnings. Called Portulaca, "Mexican Doll", by Floriana. They love the heat and are drought hardy, this punnet have spread really well. They should produce a mass of double flowers in cotton- candy clours of vanilla, musk pink, fruity mango and lemon. Sounds tasty!

The first of our "harvest". You just can't beat the taste of a home grown tomato. Unfortunately, pickle #3 picked the green one way too early and it won't sun ripen on the kitchen window sill.

More roses, this time for my bedside table.

Stop and Smell the Roses

Today I picked these roses from our garden. I think they are a David Austin Rose. They were already here when we bought the place and grow really well in Melbourne (nothing to do with me, luckily for them), everytime I walk past, I stop for a snif......they smell like sweet lemons. I thought they would fit in with Good Life Wednesday on Sarah's blog.

The lamp is made from Himalyan Rock Salt. It is supposed to have soothing properties and cleanses the air, two things that are always needed around here!!

I just like it 'cos it's purdy...............
